In accordance with the Church's teachings, it is the policy of the Board to provide, in all its operations, an inclusive educational environment that supports and enables diversity within its Catholic community.
On May 3, 2011, the Halton Catholic District School Board passed its new Equity and Inclusive Education Policy (#II-45) Administrative Procedure VI-54 has been developed to support and provide direction for the Halton Catholic District School Board’s Equity and Inclusive Education Policy and to support the Board’s Strategic Plan 2011–2015.
This is one of the winning submissions in the 2010/2011 "Give Respect ~ Get Respect" High School Challenge. This challenged marked part one of an ongoing Bullying Awareness and Prevention Campaign. This is a joint effort between the Halton Regional Police Service, students and staff of the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board.
This video was created in a "Contemporary Aboriginal Voices" course at Notre Dame. The powerful video spurred on students at Notre Dame to raise $6,500 dollars for physical education equipment, art supplies, for Aboriginal books and literature for the schools in Attawapiskat. Equity and Inclusion Strategy 2009
Launched in 2009, Ontario’s award-winning Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy aims to help the education community identify and remove discriminatory biases and systemic barriers in order to support the achievement and well-being of all students. The strategy builds on successful Ministry, school board, and school policies and practices. It sets out a phased-in implementation plan.
