Purpose

To ensure the procurement of goods and services is achieved at the lowest possible cost with the greatest value in order to achieve The Halton Catholic District School Board’s mission of Providing excellence in education. 

Principles

  • The Board commits to obtaining goods and services at the lowest available cost using competitive purchasing procedures. The Board will use appropriate price comparison practices to ensure achievement of best values.
  • The Board commits to compliance with federal, provincial and municipal legislation and all other laws without qualification or evasion.
  • The Board commits to practices that will ensure that authorized Board staff have the information required to perform the procurement function on behalf of their school/department.
  • The Board commits to a fair, open, and transparent process to obtain the best value with public funds

Competitive Bid Process

Competitive purchasing is the acquisition of any asset, whether tangible (goods, products or construction) or intangible (services) in an open and transparent manner intended to ensure equal treatment without preference to all responsible vendors and will be processed by a competitive bid process.

All Board staff and trustees will ensure that the acquisition of goods and services are in compliance with Purchasing Policy, Purchasing Administrative Procedures and with the Broader Public Sector’s “Supply Chain Guidelines” as issued by the Ministry of Finance.

To view any current or future competitive bids, please visit the Board’s website or register with Biddingo.com. The Halton Catholic District School Board will not notify Bidders of any new competitive bids. It will be the Bidder’s responsibility to check these websites to see if any new documents have been posted.
