Regional Chair to Visit St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School in Oakville in Recognition of School’s Eco Initiatives
 

WHAT: Gary Carr, Chair of Halton Region, will be joined by Alice Anne LeMay, Chair of the Halton Catholic District School Board, at St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School in Oakville to witness the school’s outstanding daily commitment to protecting the environment.

WHY:
Environmental Conservation

Gary Carr and Alice Anne LeMay will meet with the school’s Eco-Committee and will participate in the before school breakfast program as Celebrity Servers. The breakfast program is one of the school’s eco initiatives, and produces zero garbage. Following breakfast, the Chairs will visit various classrooms to listen to songs and poems performed by students that illustrate their commitment to being “Stewards of the Earth”.  In addition, teachers and students will share how environmental education is weaved into other areas of the curriculum.

Come out and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of the St. Andrew Catholic School Community in terms of waste reduction and environmentally friendly practices!
