The Halton Catholic District School Board takes great pleasure in honouring the 34 staff members who have served the Board for 25 years and the 37 who are retiring from the service of the Board this year. Collectively, these staff members have contributed 1,697 years of service to the students of the Board. The names and schools/departments of these staff members are outlined on the
attached list.
“It is my great pleasure to recognize the achievements and excellence demonstrated by our staff, and especially those individuals who are celebrating milestone events this year,” notes Michael W. Pautler, Director of Education. “It is the strong commitment and dedication of each of our employees in their respective roles that enables our system to continue to deliver the highest quality and experience of Catholic education to the communities we serve.”
The celebration, which will take place on June 3, 2011, will include a special Eucharistic Celebration, officiated by Bishop D. Crosby, Bishop of Hamilton, and concelebrated by the Very Reverend R. Modeski, Dean of Halton and Pastor at St. Patrick Church, Burlington, and Father A. Lee of St. Mark Church, Kitchener, who is the son of one of the staff members celebrating 25 years with the Board.
The honourees will be recognized for their significant contribution and commitment to Catholic education in Halton. Members of the Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr. Kevin Harkin, will perform at this special Board celebration.
This year, the honour of the longest serving retiring staff member who is retiring with 36 years of service is Diane Hession, Elementary Teacher at Holy Rosary School in Burlington.
