2011 marks the inaugural presentation of this new award, which has been generously sponsored by the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) Halton Secondary Unit. The trophy is a depiction of St. Joseph, who is appropriately the patron saint of carpenters.
Skills team members acquire points for their school based on the number and type of medals earned. Five points for Gold, three points for Silver and one point for Bronze.

Congratulations to all of the secondary schools and especially our top three finishers!
A joint initiative of both school boards in Halton, the Halton Skills Olympics is a one day mega competition that celebrates the talents of our elementary and secondary school students in over 40 events. Although competitions have diversified over the years, Halton Skills is primarily a showcase for the promotion of the skilled trades. The event raises awareness of the skilled trades and fosters a passion for craftsmanship, while promoting apprenticeship opportunities.
