On November 15 and 16, 2012, Our Kids Network and Lions Quest Canada will present a national conference at the Oakville Conference Centre, 2515 Wyecroft Rd., Oakville, Ontario.
The conference theme is Do Your Part! a call to action for youth, their families and those working with youth.
This is a “must attend” event, vital to those who serve youth professionally or in a volunteer capacity, youth leaders, educators, family members, child and family-serving agencies, early years and health organizations from across Canada.
The conference emphasizes what’s “right with our kids” and what works, the foundational concept of Developmental Assets® and is built on four main cornerstones:
- Connecting Canadians of all ages who are involved in strengths-based child and youth development
- Investigating how communities can prevent crime through social development, awareness and engagement
- Educating and inspiring participants about strategies that support positive development through Asset Building, community development, child and youth engagement, youth entrepreneurship and other strength-based approaches
- Using research in the development of effective programs and services
“We’re proud to be hosting this conference with Lions Quest Canada, a leader in Developmental Assets in Canada. The need for a national conversation about the wide range of possibilities inherent in positive child and youth development has never been greater,” said Elena DiBattista, Director of Our Kids Network.
