FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Halton Catholic Board to Host Parent Information Evenings

The Halton Catholic District School Board will host a variety of information sessions that will provide parents and students with an opportunity to explore the various programs and options available to students who will start secondary school in September, 2013.

"The start of high school is a very exciting time for students, but it can also be a very anxious time, for both students, and their parents," says Toni Pinelli, Superintendent of Education. "We have planned a number of information evenings over the course of the next couple of months that are designed to provide parents with the information they need to help their children as they transition to secondary school.”

In addition to the annual Grade 8 Parent Information Evenings, the Board will also hold information sessions for parents and students who may be interested in the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme or the Advanced Placement (AP) Program.

Grade 8 Parent Information Evenings for 2012-2013

Grade 8 Parent Information Evenings are intended to facilitate the transition to secondary school for students entering Grade 9 in September, 2013. These information sessions offer an overview of the Grade 9 program, and provide an opportunity for Grade 8 students and their parents or guardians to meet staff members and take a tour of the school.
