Board to Host Information Evening for Parents of Students with Special Needs Entering Kindergarten in September 2013

The Halton Catholic District School Board will be hosting an information meeting for parents of students with special needs who will be entering the Board's Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program or the half-day Junior Kindergarten or Senior Kindergarten Program, in September, 2013.

The session will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013, from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., at Lumen Christi Catholic Elementary School (841 Savoline Boulevard, Milton).

"It is our goal to make the transition to elementary school a happy, positive experience for both our students and their parents," says Suzanne Rossini, Superintendent of Education, Special Education Services. "This information session will provide parents with a review of the transition to school process, as well as an overview of some of the services that our Board offers."

Parents will also have an opportunity to meet and ask questions of the members of the Board's Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) and to learn about supports provided by the Ministry of Health's Community Care Access Centre (CCAC).
