WHY:

Through the Learning Partnership, a national charitable organization that supports publicly funded education in Canada, the Investigate! Invent! Innovate! curriculum-aligned program was created for Grade 7 and 8 students across Canada.

Students are challenged to integrate science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.M.) concepts they learned in class with their 21st century skills to identify a problem or opportunity in their daily lives. Students are then tasked to invent a product or process to solve the problem.

On April 27th, students will showcase the culmination of their efforts, at the HCDSB Invention Convention. Participants and guests are encouraged to share their experience on Twitter, using the hashtag #HCDSB-I3 - "I" for Invention!

*PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES ~ Members of the media interested in attending the 2017 HCDSB Invention Convention are asked to make prior arrangements through the Board's media contacts.
