The Halton Catholic District School Board is committed to providing a safe, healthy and inclusive environment for its students and staff.
As developed through the Board's multi-year strategic plan, “Fulfilling the Promise: Strategic Directions 2010-2015”, Achieving, Believing, Belonging reflect our key areas of focus and capture the underlying intent of all initiatives undertaken by our Board.
With a focus on Belonging, we provide our students with the tools for realizing their academic potential, while also instilling in them a life-long commitment to our faith, and to the community. We know that true community both requires and creates a sense of belonging, and it is this same sense of community that has been instrumental to the ongoing success of our students.
Safe, inclusive and equitable school environments foster and support learning and the ongoing development of respect, responsibility, civility and other positive behaviours and characteristics. Healthy schools play an important role in teaching students proper eating habits and reinforcing those lessons through school practices. Research shows that good health is a prerequisite for good learning.
Ontario's Ministry of Education works in partnership with students, teachers, principals, parents and others to help Ontario's students do their best in school, and offers a wealth of information on its website.
