Age of Admission and Requirements - JK/SK Half Day Program
- Junior Kindergarten children are required to be 4 years of age on or before December 31, 2012.
- Senior Kindergarten children are required to be 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2012.
- Proof of age is required.
- Roman or Eastern Rite Catholic baptismal certificate is required. If the child has no Roman/Eastern Rite Catholic baptismal certificate, the child may be admitted if one parent can provide a Roman/Eastern Rite Catholic baptismal certificate. For additional information, please refer to the Board's Operating Policy I-22.
- Before registration is finalized, a child will have completed the prescribed program of immunization for
diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps and rubella. Parent(s) must provide evidence of immunization record.
Advance registration for the 2012-2013 JK/SK and Full Day programs took place January 24 - 25, 2012, however, registration is ongoing. For further information and to register your child, please contact the principal of your nearest Catholic school.
Please Note: Children currently registered in their Catholic school’s Junior Kindergarten program are not required to register for the Senior Kindergarten program. Placement in the Senior Kindergarten program will be processed by the school unless otherwise notified by the parent(s)/guardian(s).
Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program
School sites offering the Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program in September, 2012:
- Burlington – Holy Rosary, Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. John, St. Mark, St. Patrick and St. Paul Catholic Elementary Schools
- Halton Hills - Holy Cross, St. Brigid, St. Catherine of Alexandria Schools (Georgetown) and St. Joseph School (Acton)
- Milton – Lumen Christi, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Peter Catholic Elementary Schools
- Oakville – Our Lady of Peace, St. Andrew, St. Dominic, St. James, St. Joan of Arc, St. Luke and West Oak Trails #5 Catholic Elementary Schools
Age of Admission and Requirements
- Same as stated above for the JK/SK Half Day Program, with the exception that parents of current Junior Kindergarten (half-day) students must complete the Full Day Early Learning Registration Form.
- Children residing within the catchment area of a selected Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program site have the right to attend the full day program at that location.
- Parents choosing to opt out of the Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program can make a cross boundary application to any elementary Board site providing a half-day program. In such case, transportation will be a parent responsibility.
- Parents requesting a Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program placement outside their designated boundary should first register their child in the JK/SK program at the school in their catchment area.
- Full-Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program sites with additional spaces are announced in April/May and parents can make a cross boundary application to the available sites. A fair and equitable process will be utilized to designate the available spaces.
