At the Halton Catholic District School Board, we believe every student has the right to an education, which will foster spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth. It is our goal to ensure that all students achieve success, and are able to fully realize their God-given potential.
Catholic schools have been educating students in mind, body and spirit in Ontario for nearly 170 years. Catholic education has been the foundation for millions of students to develop their full spiritual, academic, physical and social potential. While our schools adhere to Ministry of Education requirements, our Curriculum is taught from a Catholic perspective and faith development is fundamental to every part of Catholic education.
The Halton Catholic District School Board offers programs and services from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 and through to Continuing Education Services at campuses in Burlington, Milton and Oakville to students of all ages.
As part of our comprehensive Curriculum, our Catholic schools provide Religion and Family Life education and offer all the programs required by the Ministry of Education. French-as-a-Second-Language (FSL)/the core French program is offered daily to all pupils in Grades 4 - 8. Extended French Immersion is offered as an optional program to interested students in designated schools beginning at the Grade 5 level. It continues through to secondary school and is run where sufficient enrolment warrants it. English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) program support is provided to eligible students in elementary and secondary schools.
The Board provides Special Education programs and services, including programming for students identified as Gifted, to support students with identified special needs within the most enabling setting possible, usually within the regular classroom.
In collaboration with our community partners, our Board is involved in a number of programs and initiatives to assist students and families in our communities, including the Our Kids Network, the Best Start program and the Active and Safe Routes to School pilot project.
