Construction is now underway for an addition and interior renovations to St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School in Oakville. The addition and renovations will continue during the school year with an estimated completion date of December 2011.

The scope of work for the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School Addition and Alterations Project incluses the following major features:

• a new Chapel
• a 10 classroom addition
• internal classroom alterations and expansion resulting in 3 additional classrooms
• a new cafeteria, kitchen and servery
• enlarged cafetorium with retractable theatre seating
• new stage, cosmetology, hospitality, food & nutrition, and dramatic arts rooms
• enlarged entrance lobby and student area
• renovation administration area
• enlarged library resource centre
• renovated special education area
• additional computer labs
• completely renovated and upgraded science labs
• renovated building facade
• additional parking, revised site traffic flow pattern and exterior landscaping
• upgraded washroom facilities, new corridor flooring, new ceiling and wall finishes
• new student lockers
• new roof
• upgraded and energy efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
• new staff room and work rooms
