Corpus Christi Secondary School

Our School

Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School is situated at 5150 Upper Middle Road in North Burlington between Appleby Line and Burloak Drive. The new Catholic secondary school has an approximate area of 170,000 square feet and a capacity for 1,161 students. The very efficient design of the three storey school began in March, 2007 and was completed for the opening of school on September 2, 2008. School uniform colors are black, white, grey and red. These colors are all blended into the school uniform which is available for all students at McCarthy's uniforms. The school sports colors are burnt orange, black and white and the school sports name is the Corpus Christi "Longhorns".

The Feast of Corpus Christi, or the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (as it is often called today), goes back to the 13th century, but it celebrates something far older: the institution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the Last Supper.  The Feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated in Canada on the Sunday following Trinity Sunday.

The school offers a full range of Academic and Applied courses as well as a wide range of Technological offerings. The school works closely with the School Council and parents in providing course options and extra curricular activities geared to the needs of the community.

Students are drawn predominantly from the north east area of Burlington. The associate schools providing the grade 8 complement are:
  • Sacred Heart
  • Elizabeth Seton
  • St. Christopher
The staff and administration of Corpus Christi see the education of our students in mind body and spirit as a moral imperative that is the responsibility of the entire community. As a result, excellence in education combined with informed Catholic teaching is the hallmark of our school community.
