The Bronte Veterans Garden was conceived and fundraised in liason with the Town of Oakville and our generous school and corporate community.  The garden is located on Bronte Road - Halton Region's Veterans Highway.  This initiative grew from our school's outreach to the families of our fallen soldiers in Afghanistan.

Curriculum Focus

Each year, our staff review EQAO and a variety of other school/classroom data to create our School Improvement Plan for Student Achievement and Well Being.  With assistance from our Consultant, Itinerant Literacy/Numeracy Teacher and our Itinerant Special Education Resource Teacher we set goals and continuously monitor our progress.  Parents join our team and provide assistance and support.  This year, our parents applied for a Parents Reaching Out Grant.  This grant will fund activities for parents to assist their children.

Environmental Focus

The St. Dominic Eko Kids Club is a group of students who lead environmental initiatives at our school.

To date this year the Eko Kids have promoted Litterless Lunch Wednesdays, Wast Free Lunch Week and pop tab collection to assist children who are trying to obtain wheel chairs.  Upcoming projects will include a focus on no idling of cars in our school parking lot in order to keep the air free of emissions.  They will also promnote emergy use awareness in our school throughout the year.

The Eko Kids remind our staff and students to Think Green and Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
