Thomas Merton Centre for ConEd (Oakville)

Our School

The Halton Catholic District School Board has been offering Continuing Education programs for the Halton community since 1987 when it began offering its core services at the current Board office on Drury Lane. In 1994, the Board opened the Adult Learning Centre (ALC) on Trafalgar Road in Oakville that housed the many services of the Continuing Education Department under one roof and provided an alternative adult setting for students to achieve secondary credits towards an OSSD. In 2000, the Oakville campus moved to its current site at 171 Speers Road followed in 2004 by the addition of the Burlington campus at 760 Brant Street. In 2007, the Adult Learning Centre was rededicated as the Thomas Merton Centre for Continuing Education (TMCCE). The tremendous growth experienced by North Halton over the past 10 years necessitated the expansion of the educational services provided by Thomas Merton to this area and resulted in the subsequent opening of its Milton campus at 875 Main Street East in 2010.

The Thomas Merton Centre for Continuing Education has evolved over the last 23 years as a model of academic and educational excellence that will continue to provide the finest in adult and continuing education services to the residents of Halton.
