 | Bishop Reding Student Shines As Weather Anchor on CTV News Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School student, Josh Romagnuolo, who was the 2008 Secondary panel recipient of the S.E.A.C. Spirit of Inclusion Award, is infamous at Bishop Reding for his cheery morning weather reports on the P.A. system, his bright smiling face in the hallways of BR, as well as his participation during school Masses, assemblies and pep rallies. Josh demonstrates the true "Spirit of Inclusion" and has provided the staff and students of the school with an education about The Face of Autism. Recently, Tom Brown, the Weather Anchor for CTV News, visited Bishop Reding to film Josh's morning weather reports and invited Josh to broadcast the weather on CTV News at 6:00 p.m. To view the segment on the CTV News website, which aired on Friday, March 12, 2010, please click here. |  | St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders Senior Boys Basketball Team Wins Bronze at 2010 OFSAA The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School Raiders Senior Boys Basketball team and coaches Joe Polizzi and Justin Dick earned third place finish at the 2010 OFSAA "AA" Championship in Windsor. Entering the tournament as the number 1 seed, the Raiders rebounded from a 60-58 loss to Windsor Herman in the semi-final game to defeat Timmins Secondary School in the Bronze medal game. This medal finish follows a gold medal in 2009 and another bronze medal finish in 2008. |  | Oakville Trustee to Receive OCSTA Annual Trustee Award of Merit Congratulations to Oakville Trustee Alice Anne LeMay, who will be recognized with the Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association's (OCSTA) Annual Trustee Award of Merit at the association's Annual General Meeting from April 29 - May 1, 2010. This award is given to those trustees who have demonstrated one or more of the following criteria: have made a significant contribution to the Catholic education community while serving as a Catholic trustee; have strong Catholic leadership qualities and give witness to the faith commitment; and who have served as a Catholic trustee for a significant period of time. This award is not a reward for long-service, but this may be taken into account by the Conference Committee. |  | Burlington Students Receive Smith's Funeral Homes Awards 2009 Elise Hofman, an Assumption Catholic Secondary School graduate, and Victoria Zefic, a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, have been honoured as recipients of the 2009 Smith's Funeral Homes Awards in recognition of their high school achievements and the celebration of the commitment to excellence by youth in the communities served by Smith's Funeral Homes. |
