Forum for Young Canadians |
Are you interested in Canadian politics? Do
you want to meet other young Canadians from across the country? If
so, the Forum for Young Canadians program is for you!
Each year, Forum provides over 550 high school and CEGEP students
from across Canada with a uniquely enriching opportunity to learn
about the processes of government, and build friendships which can
last a lifetime. Forum participants spend a week in our nation's
capital, immersed in the exciting world of politics and government,
seeing first-hand how the government agenda is set and how decisions
that affect each of us are made. They hear from Ministers, Members
of Parliament, Senators, senior bureaucrats, members of the media
and representatives from nongovernmental organizations. They do all
this in an atmosphere which is filled with the history of our
parliamentary institutions and special moments of our political
life. Forum students have the special privilege of sitting in both
the House of Commons and the Senate, with the Speakers of both
chambers.
