SPECIAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

In the Halton Catholic District School Board, every effort is made to provide programs and services to support pupils with exceptionalities in the regular class setting.

We believe that pupils with exceptionalities should:

  • Receive appropriate special education programs and services;

  • have regular opportunities to interact with their peers, to enjoy the life of the school, and to participate in local community activities.

To these ends, the Board has adopted an "Inclusion" Policy.

A PARENT'S GUIDE TO SPECIAL EDUCATION (PROGRAMS AND SERVICES)

This guide describes Special Education programs and services available to pupils through The Halton Catholic District School Board.

We believe each pupil has the right to an education which will foster spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth.

Good communication between home and school can help our children get the most out of education.

Feel free to call or visit your school and talk with teachers and the principal about your child's progress.
