Camillo Cipriano, Superintendent of Special Education Services, has been appointed Director of Education for the Niagara Catholic District School Board

It was announced today that Camillo Cipriano, Superintendent of Education (Special Education Services) has accepted a position as Director of Education with the Niagara Catholic District School Board, effective September 1, 2020.

Camillo was hired by the Halton Catholic District School Board in 1999, and since then, he has served our HCDSB community in a variety of capacities, in both the elementary and secondary panels from classroom teacher, to Special Education Resource Teacher, Elementary Vice Principal and Elementary Principal. In February of 2012, Camillo was appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Education for Student Success, Safe Schools, and Equity and Inclusion. A few months later, he was appointed to Superintendent of Education for School Services, and in September 2018, he took on the role of Superintendent of Special Education Services.

On July 7, 2020, the Niagara Catholic District School Board announced the appointment of Camillo Cipriano as their next Director of Education. Camillo will replace current NCDSB Director of Education, John Crocco, who will retire on August 31, 2020.

Camillo’s extensive experience and strong leadership skills will serve him well in his new role. While his departure is an obvious loss for HCDSB, we are happy for Camillo, and for the Niagara Catholic District School Board community.

On behalf of the students, families and staff at HCDSB, we congratulate Camillo Cipriano on this noteworthy accomplishment, and wish him all the best as he embarks on this next chapter of his leadership journey!
