During the week of May 2 to May 7, 2021, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) joins school boards in celebrating the significant contributions that Catholic education has made to our community and across the province of Ontario!

The province-wide theme of this year’s Catholic Education Week is Nurturing Hope, reminding us that our Catholic schools exist to inspire students to cultivate their faith; so that they may prosper in hope by our God, the creator of the earth.

The five sub-themes for Catholic Education Week are:

Monday: Preparing the Earth
Tuesday: Sowing Seeds of Gratitude
Wednesday: Cultivating Relationships
Thursday: Harvesting New Fruit
Friday: Marvelling in Wonder

What’s Happening Across Our Board

Journeying Together in Hope ~ Annual Walk with Jesus

A Liturgy in honour of HCDSB’s Annual Walk with Jesus will take place on Thursday, May 6th at 10:00 AM, with greetings from Bishop Crosby.

A link to the Liturgy will be available on the Board’s website at the time of the scheduled event.

Walk with Jesus Around Your Neighbourhood!

This year, to commemorate the Annual Walk with Jesus, families are encouraged to participate in their own walk around their neighbourhood!

Students and families are also welcome to bring their own personal or homemade cross on their walk. Click here for a cross-making activity you can do at home.

Don’t forget to follow along and join in the conversation on Twitter by using the hashtag #HCWWJ.

At-Home Activities

Throughout the week, students, staff, families, parishes and members of our community are invited to participate in virtual activities and reflections at home that celebrate the distinctiveness of Catholic education!
