On Tuesday, June 15th, students from across HCDSB took part in the Board’s first ever Skills Day. Modelled after the Skills Ontario challenge, HCDSB Skills Day was designed to help students gain greater exposure to hands on activities connected to trades and technology. While intended to be done in person, the inaugural event was done virtually and was met with great success.

A total of 31 schools and 82 classes equalling 1800 students in the Intermediate and Junior divisions were engaged in unique activities throughout the day. Students participating in the day had opportunities to challenge themselves in the following areas:

  • Junior Technology
  • Junior Eco
  • Intermediate Technology
  • Intermediate Eco
  • Intermediate TV/Video production

The Pathways Team is extremely thankful to the staff and students who supported this inaugural event during these trying times.

We look forward to making this an annual event for HCDSB!
