The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) is pleased to host a variety of virtual information sessions this fall for families to learn more about the educational programs and pathways available to HCDSB students.​

International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme Virtual Information Evening

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is a globally recognized programme that challenges students to excel in their studies and in their personal development. Students enrolled in the IB Programme study topics in greater depth, helping them develop the knowledge and the critical thinking skills necessary for success in post-secondary education and beyond.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School will host a Virtual IB Information Evening on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. All Grades 7 and 8 students and their parents interested in learning more about the IB Programme are encouraged to watch the information evening online.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer enhanced learning and university-level content to students in secondary school.

Let’s Talk About Pathways!

At the parent information evenings scheduled this fall, parents and Grade 8 students can learn more about the various educational pathways available, leading to one of four destinations: Apprenticeship, College, University, or Work.

Students and their parents are welcome to learn mo​re about the many regional programs available, and how to prepare for their chosen pathways: Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), Dual Credits, Specialty Programs and Cooperative Learning Opportunities.
