The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) is pleased to be hosting a workshop for parents and caregivers of Black students this Fall.

Raising Resilient Black Children – Parent Information Workshop

This information session is designed to help parents and caregivers of Black students support their children in developing healthy coping strategies as they enter adulthood. Parents and caregivers will have an opportunity to learn about experiences of racial trauma, understand the definition of trauma, recognize the signs, and be able to discuss the various impacts of racial trauma on their children’s lives. Parents and caregivers will learn about mental wellness and strategies will be shared regarding how to address healthy and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
