A message from the Director of Education, Pat Daly.
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish our families, students and staff a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.
As we begin this Thanksgiving long weekend, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the things we can be grateful for in our Halton Catholic community.
I am certainly grateful for the start of this school year, seeing so many students returning to in-person instruction, while also supporting our students who are learning remotely. I am thankful for the work of all of our staff in preparing for this school year and re-engaging our students and families into the life of the school. I feel very blessed to be a part of this Catholic education community.
In the midst of a global pandemic, we had all hoped that this year would be more ‘normal’ than it has been in the past, however we are blessed to be able to continue offering a quality Catholic education in our schools, while nurturing safe and welcoming spaces. We are able to accomplish this through a number of health and safety procedures in place for our students, staff and families.
As we continue to navigate through this next chapter of COVID-19, I am grateful for each member of our community working towards accomplishing the same goal – meeting the needs of our students. It’s through this vibrant partnership of home, school, and parish that we are able to build on the success of our system.
The compassion and generosity of spirit that all members of our HCDSB community continue to demonstrate to each other, and to the wider community, represents the true hallmark of our Catholic school system.
Thank you for the ongoing support and understanding of our parents and guardians who have entrusted us with their children’s education. As the landscape of living, learning and working in a pandemic continues to change, we will continue to rely on the partnership between home and school to provide a quality Catholic education that is flexible, safe, welcoming and inclusive.
I wish all in our Halton Catholic community a blessed Thanksgiving. As always, I am keeping all of our students, families and staff in my thoughts and prayers.
