Bishop Reding To Host Senior Boys Soccer Tournament
The tournament will benefit the Right To Play charity.

On April 19 and 20, 2012, Bishop P.F. Reding Catholic Secondary School in Milton is hosting a Senior Boys Soccer Tournament, in support of the Right To Play charity. All Halton Catholic District Secondary Schools will participate in the tournament, with St. Ignatius of Loyola, Holy Trinity and Assumption Catholic Secondary Schools hosting games on Day 1.

Sixteen teams from Southern Ontario will face off in a friendly, but competitive, tournament to help raise funds and awareness for Right To Play. Bishop P.F. Reding Catholic Secondary School students will work to increase awareness and raise funds for the plight of children in some of the most disadvantaged countries in the world, and for the Sport for Development programs that Right To Play is bringing to these areas. It is the first tournament of its kind in Ontario.

Bishop Reding soccer coaches Brent Fraser, Gary DeMedeiros and Sven D'Souza have led their team to many achievements, most recently: 2009 Halton Champions, Spectator Cup Champions, GHAC Champions, OFSAA 4th Place (AAA). Additionally, some recent graduates from the Bishop Reding soccer team are now playing in NCAA, CIS, and OCAA Conferences. Bishop Reding has also developed a program (2011) to help transition student athletes into college/university soccer and academic programs.
