A Taste of Niagara College for Grade 6 Students!
Grade 6 students from Our Lady of Victory, St. Luke and St. Raphael Catholic Elementary Schools took part in an Experiential Learning opportunity at Niagara College’s Niagara On the Lake campus.

Grade 6 students from Our Lady of Victory, St. Luke and St. Raphael Catholic Elementary Schools took part in an Experiential Learning opportunity at Niagara College’s Niagara On the Lake campus on February 23rd.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce students to the learning opportunities and post-secondary choices that exist, as they make informed decisions when choosing their future pathways.

Students participated in two workshops focusing on Food Science and Event Planning.  The workshops involved students posing as food critics, as well as a collaborative inquiry session to determine a theme, food, entertainment, and overall budget for a proposed Grade 8 graduation party. Students were also provided with an overview of the careers available, should they choose to complete a related program.

The day concluded with a lunch prepared by students in Niagara’s Culinary program, as well as a tour of the campus for students to see the amazing programs and facilities offered at Niagara College.

Many thanks to all of the schools for participating in the day and the team at Niagara College who helped to provide this amazing experiential learning opportunity for our students!
