The Ontario Association of School Board Officials (OASBO) recently recognized Giacomo Corbacio, Superintendent of Facilities Management Services as the recipient of the coveted Wm. J. Wales Award for 2016.
At the February 7th, Regular Meeting of the Halton Catholic District School Board, Superintendent Corbacio was acknowledged by the Board of Trustees and senior staff for his exceptional work.
The Wm. J. Wales Award established by OASBO in 1985, is the most prestigious award presented by the Operations, Maintenance and Construction (OMC) Committee to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the area of school operations, maintenance and construction.
Wm. J. Wales Award Criteria:
- An individual who is an active or honorary member of OASBO;
- An individual who is or has been a plant business official for a period exceeding three years; and
- An individual who has contributed to and shared knowledge of plant facility operations and has been dedicated to the aims and objects of the OMC Committee.
Superintendent Corbacio has served the Halton Catholic District School Board for more than 26 years, and is a highly respected leader, both within our school district, and across the province.
