HCDSB Students Succeed in Halton Skills Competition!
On March 28, 2017, elementary and secondary students demonstrated their unique skills and technological abilities at the Halton Skills Competition.

On March 28, 2017, elementary and secondary students demonstrated their unique skills and technological abilities at the Halton Skills Competition.

The Halton Skills Competition is an annual event, where students in grades 4-12 from the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) and Halton District School Board (HDSB) present their technical skills and compete in a friendly environment.

Students showcase their talents in the areas of: architectural design, healthcare, I.T. network systems, video production, graphic design, carpentry, animation, robotics, welding, auto service, and hairstyling. For more information, view the full list here​.

Quick Facts:

  • Participation in the Halton Skills Competition doubled in numbers from last year! 50 elementary and 74 secondary students from HCDSB competed this year.

  • Qualified student competitors will represent HCDSB at the Ontario Technological Skills Competition, which is Canada's largest skilled trade and technology competition, on May 1-3, 2017. The qualifying competitions took place on Saturday, April 1st at Niagara College.
