Halton Catholic Board Seeks Public Feedback on 2017-2018 Budget

The Halton Catholic District School Board is currently conducting a Budget Consultation Process for the 2017-2018 school year.

This process involves gathering public feedback, which will help guide and inform the Board of Trustees as they make decisions about our 2017-2018 school year budget.

Background Information

At the April 4th and April 18th, Regular Meetings of the Halton Catholic District School Board, the Board of Trustees held two (2) Budget Strategy Sessions.

The first session provided an overview of the budget process, outlined Ministry of Education requirements with respect to school board budgets, and showed ways that the budget is aligned with our Strategic Plan.

The second session outlined current budget challenges and priorities, and presented for consideration potential cost savings and revenue generating initiatives. For more information, read the Budget Information Summary here.

We Want Your Feedback!

  • A Budget Telephone Town Hall session took place on April 25, 2017, which provided a brief overview of the budget process, and invited parents to share their thoughts with trustees and senior staff, ask questions, and participate in a poll.
  • Parents and members of the community are able to share their perspective by completing an online survey. The survey will be available until May 5, 2017. Survey results will be presented at the May 16, 2017 Regular Board Meeting, and will be considered by trustees and staff as the budget is developed and approved.
  • Share your thoughts and comments by email to Aaron Lofts, Senior Administrator, Financial Services:

Additional information about the 2017-2018 budget process is posted on our Board’s website.
