Be on the lookout for the winning
entries from the "See The Problem, Be The Solution" Bullying Prevention Awards.
Student winners of the Bullying Prevention contest were recognized at the May 16, 2017, Regular Meeting of the Board.
Back in April, 2017, students
from the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) voted on the final
entries for the Bullying Prevention awards – where the final submissions were displayed publicly.
Nearly 250 students participated in the
contest – from grades 6 to 12 – by creating arts-based anti-bullying messages. The same students were given the
opportunity to vote on the posters, videos, and songs that best represent the contest’s
tagline: See the Problem, Be the
The campaign, supported by the Halton
Regional Police Services (HRPS), teaches students the importance
of creating safe and inclusive environments to prevent bullying. The gala
highlights their “Give Respect – Get Respect” movement and promotes the message
that all students have a right to feel safe.
HCDSB finalists advanced to the Regional Give
Respect – Get Respect gala at the Silver City Theatre in Oakville, where all winning entries in Halton were recognized.
