260 students and supporting staff will gather for the Festival of Harmony on May 19th, an annual music festival that features our outstanding elementary school music programs.
For the past 3 years, the festival has been running with the guidance and support of Music Teachers, including Kevin Harkin, Secondary Teacher and member of the Holy Trinity Music Department, and Steve Curto, Music Teacher at Our Lady of Peace.
The non-competitive, annual event allows students in instrumental band to collaborate and share their gift of music with their peers.
The theme of the festival,
"bringing together the musical talents of the HCDSB" speaks to the sharing aspect of music, rather than a competition.
8 elementary schools in Oakville and Burlington will participate in a day full of musical performances and peer mentorship. Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School music students and staff will be present throughout the day to act as mentors and inspire our younger students. The day will conclude with a massive 'jam session' with all participating schools!
