Nine Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School Life Skills students mastered the public transit system with the City of Milton's six-month travel-training pilot project. Through experiential learning, the Life Skills program was able to use the transit pilot project to help develop practical skills and familiarity of city transit.

The Life Skills Program provides opportunities for our students to thrive and reach their full God-given potential. Learning how to safely and effectively use the city's transit system equips our students with the essential skills needed to prepare them for a successful, responsible, and autonomous life course.

"We were thrilled to collaborate on this worthwhile project with the Town of Milton," said Tracey Tapper, teacher at Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School. "It was a great learning experience for our students, and we are grateful for the support of the Town of Milton in this initiative."

From remembering to bring their transit tickets, to learning to visually recognize landmarks to know their stop, the hands-on program successfully provided our students with the opportunity to participate in and learn a fundamental skill for their future success!
