Retired Soldier & National Wheelchair Rugby Player Inspires Holy Trinity School Community

On November 9th, the Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School community was pleased to invite retired soldier, and national wheelchair rugby player, Corporal Chris Klodt to their school for an inspirational talk.

Corporal Chris shared his heroic stories to students and staff about serving with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, and serving in Bosnia and Afghanistan for many years. Unfortunately, while serving in Afghanistan, Corporal Chris was wounded in his neck and became a paraplegic due to his injuries.

With the guidance and support of Soldier On, a Canadian Armed Forces program committed to supporting veterans overcome their mental and physical injuries, Corporal Chris recovered and was able to represent Canada at the Invictus Games, this past September.

Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School was honoured to have Corporal Chris speak to the school assembly this past Thursday, and generously donated to Soldier On in Chris Klodt's name.

This Remembrance Day, students and staff across the HCDSB are eternally grateful for past and present soldiers who have served Canada, and to the men and women who so bravely and selflessly shaped this country we call home.
