Heartfelt Greetings Across HCDSB Delivered To Our Veterans
This year alone, 230 classes participated across HCDSB, and approximately 5,750 Valentine's Day cards were made.

Students at the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) recently created Valentine's Day cards and heartfelt greetings for our War Veterans and women and men in service across the world.

Quick Facts:

  • Each year, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) invites schools, individuals and organizations across Canada to create Valentine's Day cards in recognition of the valiant sacrifices made by our heroes. VAC became involved with the program in 1996, and has since been receiving and distributing personalized, handcrafted Valentines to Veterans across the country.
  • This year, 230 classes participated across HCDSB, and approximately 5,750 Valentine's Day cards were made.
  • HCDSB is the largest Board across Canada to send out Valentine's Day cards to the men and women in service.
  • The following Catholic elementary schools had 100% student participation in the 'Valentines for Vets' initiative: St. Mary, St. Christopher, St. Marguerite d’Youville, St. Gregory The Great, Lumen Christi, and St. Anne.

Appreciation is extended to Purolator for their support in transporting the heartfelt cards, and to our students and staff for participating each year in this worthwhile cause!
