'See the Problem, Be the Solution' Bullying Prevention Gala
 

WHAT:

The Halton Catholic School Board  (HCDSB) has once again joined forces with Halton Regional Police Services, Halton Region, Halton District School Board, and independent schools in Halton to raise awareness of bullying prevention through the 'See the Problem, Be the Solution' school challenge.


On Thursday, April 5th, 2018, finalist submissions for the 'See the Problem, Be the Solution' contest will be showcased at Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School, and winners in each category will be announced.

WHY:

​Students in grades 6-12 across Halton were invited to develop creative arts-based public service messages that convey the theme of respect, promoting positive relationships, and inclusion.

New this year ~ students across HCDSB were invited to vote online during the week of March 26, 2018 for their favourite entry in the following three categories:

1. Poster
2. Song 
3. Video

Finalist submissions will be presented at the April 5, 2018 gala, and one (1) submission with the highest number of online votes in each of the poster, song, and video categories will be announced on April 5th.

All student participants and finalists will be recognized for their dedication and efforts towards the bullying prevention challenge on April 5th, with representation from student trustees, students and school board officials.

As part of the gala, Stu Saunders, Founder and Executive Director of Youth Leadership Camps Canada (YLCC) will be delivering a motivational speech to the crowd.
