Renewing the Promise During Catholic Education Week

The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) will be joining school boards across the province of Ontario in celebrating Catholic Education Week, from May 6 - May 11, 2018

This year, Catholic Education Week begins with Eucharistic Celebrations on Sunday, May 6th. Throughout the week, students, staff, parents and members of our community will participate in a variety of events and activities that support the theme of the week: Renewing the Promise.

Highlights of the Week

Walking in Solidarity: All students and staff at St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School will kick-off Catholic Education Week through a school-led "Walk With Jesus" on Monday, May 7. Following the walk, a special presentation, prayer service and dance squad performance will take place.

Mass & Blessing of a new historical sign at St. Andrew's Parish. The blessing will take place on Tuesday, May 8th, with Father Cornelius (Con) O'Mahony presiding over the liturgy. 

9th Annual Walk With Jesus: students and staff from each of our elementary and secondary schools will walk in solidarity and demonstrate our ‘faith in action’ from Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School to the Mattamy National Cycling Centre (Milton Velodrome) on Thursday, May 10th. Mass will be led by Father John Van Hees at the Milton Velodrome, beginning at 12:15 p.m. Participants can join the conversation on Twitter #HCWWJ

Friday, May 11 - Family & Volunteer Appreciation: Kindergarten students at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Elementary School will celebrate their family members and volunteers through interactive activities and prayer.

May-Giving Food Drive: will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School from May 2-9, in support of the Burlington Food Bank.
