Halton Catholic Board Invites Members to its Special Education Advisory Committee

The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) invites Incorporated Parents’ Associations and community members at large, to apply for membership to its Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).

Quick Facts:

  • The Special Education Advisory Committee's mandate is to make recommendations to the Board about matters affecting Special Education programs and services delivered to students with exceptional needs.
  • SEAC consists of members nominated by local community associations and approved by the Board.
  • There are up to 12 positions available for local parent associations, and up to 2 positions available for community members, for the 2018-2022 term.
  • The community associations have parental representatives who promote the interests and well-being of students with exceptional needs and abilities, and must operate locally within the jurisdiction of the HCDSB.
  • ​SEAC meets on the last Monday of every month at the Catholic Education Centre in Burlington.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 30, 2018. Those interested in applying as a “member at large” must be:

  • A Canadian citizen, 18 years of age or older;
  • A resident within the jurisdiction of the HCDSB;
  • And a registered Catholic school supporter.

  • Please note that Board employees are not eligible for appointment.

    Associations interested in applying are asked to submit a letter explaining their interest, and community members are asked to submit an application (résumé) with a letter indicating their suitability for the position through email: to the attention of:
