BR Student Recipient of Western University's Faculty of Science Entrance Scholarship!

Bishop P.F. Reding Catholic Secondary School​ is proud to announce that Grade 12 student, Jessica Brown, has been selected as a recipient of the highly esteemed Western University’s National Scholarship Program: Faculty of Science Entrance Scholarship. This award recognizes a student’s all-around excellence, outstanding academic and athletic achievement, and commitment to school and community activities.

This highly motivated and engaged young woman maintains a 96% average in Grade 12 while being involved in numerois extra-curricular athletic, leadership, and volunteer activities at Bishop Reding and in the Milton community. Jessie is a rep softball player and has received both her junior and senior letters for her athletic involvement at the school. She is also president of both the STEM club and Development and Peace.

Outside of school, Jessie volunteers her time tutoring in Math and English and helping as an assistant swim instructor. She also devotes countless hours coaching young athletes in the fundamentals of softball, while helping build their self-confidence with motivational activities.  The Town of Milton recognizes Jessie’s strong leadership skills and her engagement in the Milton community and have awarded her the Milton Youth Award for Community Leadership.

Jessie’s exceptional achievements and contributions have also been recognized by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Milton, and The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board, and the Canadian Federation of University Women as she is the 2019 recipient of their respective scholarships.

In addition to receiving the above-mentioned awards, Jessie was also granted a Loran Scholar Semi-Finalist Certificate, from a pool of over 5,000 applicants! Her commitment to character, service, and leadership make her a very deserving recipient.

Jessie has accepted an offer at Western University where she will begin her Bachelor of Medical Sciences and partake in the Scholar’s Electives Program in September 2019.
