Bishop Reding Graduate Reaching for the Stars

Bishop Reding alumnus, Jacob Deery, is rocketing through his undergrad!

Deery is in his third year of the Mechantronics Engineering program at the University of Waterloo, and is a student design team lead for the Waterloo Rocketry Club.

The club is comprised of 20 students from a variety of engineering disciplines that work diligently to design, build, and launch rockets to a target altitude of 10,000 feet. Each June, the team travels to New Mexico to compete against teams from around the globe in the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition at Spaceport America.

This year, Jacob and his team came in first place in the 10K/Liquid Hybrid Student Researched and Developed (SRAD) category with the debut flight of the rocket 'UXO'.
