HCDSB Alumnus & BT Anchor Melanie Ng Returns to St. Luke!

On June 14, 2019, Melanie Ng, host of Breakfast Television and anchor of CityNews Toronto, took a trip down memory lane as she visited St. Luke Catholic Elementary School in Oakville - her former elementary school!

"I used to serve the volleyball from right here," Melanie said, as she reminisced about her childhood playing sports in her old school gym. Melanie grew up in Oakville, and claims that she broke out of her shell at St. Luke.

"I used to be very, very quiet," she said. "Then I found my voice."

She spent her time at St. Luke playing on the volleyball team, competing in track and field, and using her new found voice during school speeches.

Melanie graduated from St. Luke in 1996, and went on to complete high school at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School.

During her visit, she spoke to students about her career, some of her favourite experiences, and her road to success. After her presentation, students had the opportunity to ask questions.

Melanie was accompanied by her camera crew on her visit, who documented the experience to broadcast on CityNews!

Thank you, Melanie, for taking the time to visit St. Luke, and for your fun and informative presentation!
