Director Daly Wishes Our HCDSB Community A Safe & Restful Summer!

As the 2018-2019 school year comes to an end, I wanted to wish all in our HCDSB community a safe and restful summer.

During my first year as Director, it was important for me to see first-hand the great things that are happening across each of the 55 school communities that make up HCDSB. This kept me a little busy - from classroom visits to sports events; public speaking competitions to school concerts; skills competitions to awards ceremonies; First Communions, Confirmations, graduations; school anniversaries, blessings and ground-breakings - all time well spent.

What I observed as I travelled our system confirmed what I already knew – that we are very fortunate at HCDSB to be a part of such a tight-knit and vibrant community. Parents, staff, parish and community members – all working towards the same goal: the success of our students. It is an absolute honour to serve this community.

For some, the end of the 2018-2019 school year marks the completion of a cycle. Our Grade 8 students will be moving on to high school. Many of our high school students will embark on post-secondary pathways. And some of our staff will complete their journey of service as they retire. To all in our community who are moving on - I wish you all the best, and may God continue to bless you in all that you do.

Thank you for a great first year as your Director of Education.

I hope that the summer break will provide many opportunities to slow down and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.
