HCDSB's Indigenous Education Advisor Awarded the Canada 150 Sesquicentennial Award

We are pleased to announce that the Halton Catholic District School Board's (HCDSB) Indigenous Education Advisor, Sherry Saevil has been honoured with a Canada 150 Sesquicentennial Award.

The award was presented by Member of Parliament for Oakville, North-Burlington, Pam Damoff, to 15 Canadians who positively impact and influence our community. Sherry was recognized for receiving this prestigious award at the HCDSB's Regular Board Meeting held on December 19, 2017.

Sherry is a valued, honourable Indigenous leader in the Halton Catholic community, as well as both regionally, and provincially. We are proud to have Sherry on our Halton Catholic team, and are pleased to acknowledge and celebrate the many contributions she makes as an Indigenous Canadian woman, influential educator, and perseverant advocate for justice.

Congratulations to Sherry on this significant and well-deserved honour!
