HCDSB Participates in First-Ever Lights Off Challenge!

To celebrate Earth Hour this year, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) organized its first-ever "HCDSB Lights Off Challenge"!

Participating schools joined the challenge by turning their lights off and reducing their overall energy use in April.

Thank you to all students and staff for doing their part to conserve energy in our schools, and congratulations to the following schools with the highest energy reduction!

1st Place: Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Elementary School (35% energy reduction). Check out the infographic ~ Eliminating Single Use Plastics, created by Our Lady of Fatima School.
2nd Place:  Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Elementary School (32% energy reduction)
3rd Place: St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School (Acton) (27% energy reduction)

Honourable mentions are extended to Corpus Christi and St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary Schools for their hard work and efforts throughout Earth Week.
