HCDSB Speech Language Department to Host Stay, Play, & Talk Social Skills Program

On Friday, May 17, 2019, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) Speech Language Department will be hosting Stay, Play, & Talk -- an evidence based social skills training workshop for children with social communication difficulties and their peers.

The program is based on a peer-mediated approach that teaches peers how to interact with children that have social challenges, as well as teaching social skills to children who may need additional instruction.

Stay, Play, & Talk builds on the tremendous impact of peer interactions and allows children to learn age-appropriate skills in the natural setting of the classroom. It also allows children to be supported by people at school who have the most impact on their learning and development – the educators who are with them every day.
