Holy Cross Student Selected as a Page for the Legislative Assembly of Ontario!

Grade 8 student Leo Marsella from Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School has been chosen to serve as a Page for the Legislative Assembly at Queen’s Park in Toronto!

Each year, approximately 150 Grade 7 and 8 students from across the province are selected to participate in Ontario’s Legislative Page Program. The program provides students the opportunity to experience the provincial legislature in action.

Leo applied for the program by submitting a 750-word essay highlighting his interest in the program, and why he thinks he would make a good Page.

After a highly competitive decision process, Leo was chosen to be a Page for the term! His first session was on March 6, 2020, where he went through orientation, got fitted for his uniform, and practiced working in the Chamber.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 precautions set in place, the term has been postponed until further notice. When it is safe to do so, Leo will resume his duties as a Page, and make the Holy Cross and the Halton Hills community proud!

Congratulations, Leo, on this amazing accomplishment!
