Notre Dame First Stop on the 38th Annual Halton Farm & Food Tour

On September 19th, Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School hosted the 38th Annual Halton Farm & Food Tour.

The tour explores agricultural and food operations from all corners of Halton, serving as an educational opportunity for regional staff, elected officials, and members of the public.

Notre Dame’s horticulture department was the first stop on the tour, showcasing the school’s FarmBot Genesis. Farmbot is an open source, fully automated food production system that seeds, weeds and waters gardens.

FarmBot furthers students’ understanding of the process behind agricultural operations, and helps them better appreciate sustainable food solutions.

Well done, Notre Dame, for your innovative work in horticulture!
