St. Andrew Student Comes Out on Top at the 2019 Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair

St. Andrew Catholic Elementary student, Ethan Chiang, won big at the 2019 Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF) on April 2.

BASEF is an annual competition for students in Grade 7 to 12 from Hamilton, Halton Region, Haldimand County, Norfolk County and the County of Brant and Six Nations. This year, $300,000 worth of prizes were awarded to those students with the top science and engineering projects.

Ethan’s project, ‘Proteolytic Effect of Fruit Enzyme Homogenate on Beef with Varying Degrees of Doneness’, won the Best Junior Project category and earned him an all expenses paid trip to attend the Canada Wide Science Fair in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Congratulations, Ethan, on your hard work, and good luck at the Canada Wide Science Fair in May!
