Registration is Still Open!

The Halton Catholic Board has re-opened registration to fill open spots at the following schools sites for Grade 5 Extended French during the 2018-2019 school year:

o Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School (Milton)
o St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School (Oakville)

Beginning on May 10, 2018, parents may register in-person, on a first-come, first-serve basis for a remaining spot in a Grade 5 Extended French class of their choice listed above. Parents will need to visit their preferred school site in order to register.

Please note that registration for September, 2018 will be open until space is filled. Once classes are full, parents will be added on to a wait list. Wait lists for the school sites offering the Grade 5 Extended French Program will end on September 30, 2018.

As this is a regional program, classes may be located outside of your home school area. Please be advised that transportation will not be provided if your child does not meet the Board’s eligibility requirements as per Board Policy II-24 Home to School Transportation.

Join a Wait List

The following school sites currently have wait lists that parents will be able to join:

o St. Benedict Catholic Elementary School (Milton)
o St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Elementary School (Georgetown)
o St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School (Oakville)
o St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic Elementary School (Oakville)

Please be advised that parents adding their child on a wait list and are residing outside of the school boundary do not need to complete a Cross-Boundary Request, unless you have been contacted by the school and are accepted into a class.

Can siblings attend the same school if my child is in the Early French Immersion program?

Enrolment in Extended French Immersion does not guarantee that siblings can attend the same school. It is possible to have one sibling attending one school while another sibling attends a different school. Parents have the option of submitting a cross-boundary request, however, these requests are subject to approval and annual review. Transportation is not provided to cross-boundary students. If a sibling is granted cross-boundary permission, s/he must apply for a courtesy seat on the bus, which is also subject to approval. It should be noted that each year, the siblings must re-apply: there is no guarantee from year to year.
