At the Regular Board Meeting held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, trustees made the decision to form a committee to review the French Immersion Programs offered in our school district.
This decision came about after a recent review of all French programming offered in our district, including Core French, Extended French (Grade 5 entry), and Early French Immersion (Grade 1 entry). The findings of the French Sustainability Study were shared with trustees in Staff Report 9.1 at the Regular Board Meeting held on November 1, 2016.
After seeking feedback from parents on the findings of the French Sustainability Report, the board of trustees made the decision:
- To proceed as status quo with Early French Immersion (Grade 1 entry) for the 2017-2018 school year;
- To form a committee, which would meet over the next few months to develop further recommendations for all French programming in our district.
